Dance
Center
was founded in 1983 to offer young people and adults a quality dance education,
with a special emphasis on the discipline of ballet. Director Barbara Ellen Smartt
has crafted a syllabus based on accepted ballet standards.A complete dance education is offered in ballet, pointe, modern, lyrical,
jazz and tap.Students are
individually placed based on their ability, experience, and age.A highly trained and competent staff of instructors conducts classes for
students age three through adults.
NADC promotes enjoyment
and love of the art of dance while incorporating a specific syllabus for each
age level and discipline.An annual
recital and regional dance competitions are performance outlets for our dancers.Students are encouraged to audition for a variety of performance
opportunities with local and state arts groups.Advanced students are invited to perform at Panoply and at southeastern
regional Dance Masters of America competitions.
